Moldovan working groups to develop drafts on status of Chisinau, Balti municipalities

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today ruled to create two working groups due to develop drafts on the status of the Chisinau and Balti municipalities within 60 days.
The working group that will work out the draft the law on the new status of Chisinau will include socialists - Vlad Batrincea and Bolea Vasile, Communist MPs - Boris Golovin and Banicov Alexandru, Liberal Democrats - Vlad Filat and Iurie Tap, Democratic MPs Valentina Buliga and Efrosinia Gretu and Liberal Ion Casian.
The latter three lawmakers will also represent the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party within the group that will develop the draft on the status of the Balti municipality. The group will also be made up of Socialists Nesterovschi Alexandr and Sorocean Victor, Communist MPs Elena Bodnarenco and Panciuc Vasile, Liberal Democrats Tudor Deliu and Aliona Gota.
The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Vlad Filat, who is one of the authors of the legislative proposal, during the parliament session said that the first draft elaborated by the working group would define the principles of organisation and functioning of the Chisinau municipality and its administrative-territorial units; powers of the municipal council; duties of the mayor, deputy mayors, praetors and deputy praetors.
Lawmakers from the second working group will develop a draft that would establish, in particular, the general principles of organisation and functioning of the Balti municipality.
