Moldovan speaker proposes elaboration of action plan to implement Association Agreement

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- Moldova is willing to speed up reforms on country's modernisation and to advance on the European integration as soon as possible. The country relies much on the support and expertise of the EU and international partners to consolidate institution capacities and improve cooperation mechanisms between parliament and government in implementation of the Association Agenda.

Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today met Norwegian Ambassador Tove Bruvik Westberg in Chisinau. They discussed the intention to propose elaboration of an action plan of parliament for implementing Association Agreement and measures taken by authorities to continue reforms and speed up Moldova's European integration, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

Candu said a better synchronization of activities between parliament and government from the first stages would facilitate the adjustment of national legislation to the EU acquis and would provide quality laws expected both by citizens and investors.

Other issues were related to the internal political context and relations with development partners of Moldova. Also, the officials exchanged opinions about boosting the dialogue with the Transnistrian region and rapprochement of the two banks of the Dniestre by involving in the implementation of the Association Agreement, including the Free Trade Agreement, in favor of citizens from both banks.

Candu thanked the Norwegian authorities for the support offered to Moldova both in expertise of the Norwegian Mission of Experts for Law Supremacy Promotion in Moldova and in implementation of more projects of interest for citizens.

Tove Bruvik Westberg welcomed Moldovan authorities' determination to continue reforms and assured that her country would further back Moldova on European integration.
