Moldovan deputy premier meets British, Swedish, Norwegian ambassadors

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Victor Osipov today held a series of meetings with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Moldova - Swedish Ambassador Ingrid Tersman, British Ambassador Philip Batson and Norwegian Ambassador Towe Bruvik Westberg, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The officials discussed the prospect of the five-plus-two negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict settlement and dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol. In this regard, the deputy prime minister reiterated the new government’s intention to boost the Transnistrian conflict settlement within the five-plus-two talks and stressed the importance of resuming the one-plus-one dialogue and the activity of the sectoral working groups. The deputy prime minister also said that it was necessary to ensure stability in the security zone.
The ambassadors expressed openness and readiness to provide assistance and expertise to boost efforts in the conflict settlement process and increase trust between residents of the two sides. At the same time, diplomats gave assurances that they would further support Moldova’s European integration aspirations and country’s reintegration.
Victor Osipov thanked the ambassadors for their enhanced interest of the Transnistrian conflict settlement as well as for the support oriented towards reintegration, emphasising the importance of the contribution of EU member states in supporting Moldova’s reformation and democratisation.
