Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - The main topic of the meeting the Joint Control Commission (JCC) held on 5 March was the fact that Transnistrian representatives avoided to discuss ensuring free movement in the Security Zone, according to a statement made today by the Moldovan delegation to the JCC.
Including this particular topic on the JCC’s agenda allowed resuming the commission’s normal activity on 29 January 2015, after a block of 7 months.
Throughout the meeting, the Transnistrian delegation tried to sidetrack the discussions from the topic on the agenda, namely the freedom of movement in the security zone, thus violating the provisions of the Joint Control Commission regulation and ignoring previous decisions by the commission and the positions assumed by the other components of the JCC.
At the same time, Tiraspol representatives neglected the proposal to start negotiations on this subject at the level of co-chairmen and representatives of Ukraine and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to JCC, in order to overcome the created deadlock.
In the absence of a constructive attitude by the Transnistrian delegation, the co-president on behalf of Russia postponed talks for the next meeting.
