Moldova-EU Association Council to be held in Brussels

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today chaired a meeting of the governmental commission for European integration, in the context of the preparations for a meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Council, due in Brussels on 16 March, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The sides discussed the evolutions of implementing the Association Agreement, as well as the short-term priorities, which would form the working agenda of the related national institutions, taking into account the resumption of the parliament's activity.
Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic unveiled a report on the latest evolutions of Moldova's trade with the EU.
"Commerce with EU is on the rise. The EU is the largest importer of Moldovan products. Moreover, this tendency is being consolidated. The exports to the EU increased by 9.6 per cent, and imports by 3.9 per cent in 2014, against 2013, Calmic said.
The premier requested to mobilize all national authorities in order to ensure fully turning to good account of opportunities the agreement offers - quality of adjusting the national legislation to the European standards and principles being an important condition.
