Germany to further support Moldova's European agenda

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today met German Ambassador to Moldova Ulrike Knotz. The officials tackled the bilateral ties, Moldova's European agenda and attraction of German investments in the country, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Gaburici also discussed the government's commitments to continue reforms in justice, fight corruption and ensure transparency in the banking system. In the context, the prime minister said he relied on extending foreign investments in the country. "I hope we will have more German investors and investments in Moldova in such sectors as energy efficiency and energy production from renewable sources, agriculture and food processing industry, information technologies. Also, we count on investments in small and middle enterprises", he said.
In 2014, Germany ranked fourth in the top of countries where Moldova exports goods, amounting to 137.5 million dollars, and is on the fifth position among importers, with 427.0 million dollars.
The prime minister also discussed a visit he is to pay to Brussels to attend a meeting of the Moldova-European Union Association Council, due on 16 March.
For his part, Knotz wished success to the prime minister and his team. "Germany needs pragmatic, stable and reliable partners. The European agenda must be continued, so that Moldova changes, modernises and lives according to the European standards", he noted.
Ulrike Knotz started her mission of ambassador to Moldova on 20 August 2014.
