Moldovan cabinet approves plan on marking 70th anniversary of victory over fascism

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved two draft laws on the ratification of the decisions of the council of heads of state from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and an action plan on marking the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the World War II and the establishment of a common jubilee distinction, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

Military parades, meetings with veterans, international conferences, visits by veterans to monuments of CIS member states and from abroad will be organised on this occasion. Also, the action plan provides for measures of settling social problems of veterans, giving health resort vouchers, as well as the right to use phone services free of charge and free travel in all types of transport during the celebration of the event.

Also today, the cabinet approved a draft law on the establishment of a jubilee medal marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II. The distinction will be provided to veterans from the Commonwealth of Independent States. As many as 2,150 veterans are recorded in Moldova.
