Moldovan deputy premier meets EU officilas

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Victor Osipov today met Head of EU Delegation in Moldova Pirkka Tapiola and Head of the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Francesco Bastagli, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The officials discussed the present situation in the Transnistrian conflict settlement and exchanged opinions on the security of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.

They also reviewed the results of the cooperation and initiatives for the next period. Victor Osipov stressed the importance of EUBAM’s contribution to improving the management of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and customs procedures, building the capacity of the institutions involved, as well as support provided to the border demarcation process.

For their part, the European officials reiterated the EU's aspiration to deepen cooperation with Moldova and provide further backing to Moldovan and Ukrainian partner services for improving customs capacity and border management skills.
