Moldovan foreign minister, EU officials to approach European agenda

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman will participate in the tenth meeting of the European Action Group for Moldova (GAERM) in Brussels on 16 March. The event will be co-chaired by Romania and France, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.

Attending the meeting will be EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Policy Johannes Hahn, as well as the foreign ministers of the 28 EU member states.

The meeting's goal is to exchange opinions on the Moldovan authorities' priorities on reform programme, ways of supporting the efforts of the country to implement the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, as well as the sides' expectations from the Riga Summit.

The first meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Council will be held on 16 March as well.

GAERM is a ministerial mechanism with an informal character, launched in January 2010, following an initiative by Romania and France. It has proved to be efficient in promoting interests and visibility of Moldova on the European agenda. The ninth meeting of GAERM was held  in Chisinau on 1 September 2014.
