Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The European integration is the cornerstone of the new government’s action programme. Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici made statements to this effect at a meeting with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels today. The officials assessed the efforts of the Moldovan authorities as to the European agenda of Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Gaburici thanked Jean-Claude Juncker for the support provided by the European institutions to modernise Moldova.

„The European integration is the priority of the new government’s action programme. The support provided by the European Commission mobilises us even more to continue the democratic transformations in Moldova,” Gaburici said.

Gaburici assured that the government would persevere in continuing the reform process, with the reform of the judicial system, fighting corruption, and stability of the financial and banking system being as emblematic priorities.

Chiril Gaburici specified that other current tasks of the cabinet were to ensure the economic growth and administrative and territorial reform.

Gaburici said the Moldovan government was aware of the development opportunities provided by the European Commission and would make its utmost to prove the irreversibility of Moldova’s European integration.

For his part, Jean-Claude Juncker reiterated the European Union’s commitment to back Moldova by implementing the Association and Free Trade Agreements between Moldova and EU, providing expertise to high-ranking advisors in main areas of reform and financial assistance on the set directions.
