Moldovan deputy prime minister, Turkish, Lithuanian envoys broach Transnistrian conflict-related issues

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov met Turkish and Lithuanian Ambassadors Mehmet Selim Kartal and, respectively, Rimantas Latakas, today. The talks focused on the present situation in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Mehmet Selim Kartal underlined the need to deepen bilateral cooperation, especially in bolstering confidence and carry out impact projects, for the benefit of residents of the two banks of Dniester.
Rimantas Latakas assured that Lithuania would further support Moldova’s European integration and reintegration aspirations.
Both envoys praised the positive dynamic of the dialogue between the two banks of Dniester, both between the political representatives within negotiations and between the Moldovan prime minister and Transnistrian leader. At the same time, the ambassadors voiced confidence that the ascendant trend of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol over the past period would be continued and would yield positive results. The officials voiced willingness to further back efforts to settle the Transnistrian conflict.
Victor Osipov thanked the envoys for the interest shown in the Transnistrian conflict settlement and development of bilateral ties with Moldova.
