Moldovan parliament speaker conveys congratulatory message to European Parliament's president

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu conveyed a congratulatory message to European Parliament President on the 56th anniversary of the European Parliament, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
„I am confident that the signing of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement on 27 June 2014 and its ratification by the Moldovan parliament and European Parliament represents an important basis for our future cooperation, as well as a proof of the resolution and seriousness of the Moldovan authorities to gradually advance towards our European future,” the message says.
Andrian Candu highlighted the cooperation between the two parliaments within the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee, which distinguished itself by friendship ties, intensity and active parliamentary exchanges. At the same time, Candu reconfirmed the Moldovan authorities’ firm determination to continue the European integration and stressed the openness for joint actions with the European Parliament.
The European Parliament is one of the biggest democratic assemblies at global level. The 751 MPs represent those 500 million EU citizens. The lawmakers are elected once in five years by voters of the 28 member states.
