Moldovan parliament speaker meets US secretary of state deputy assistant

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today met United States of America Secretary of State of Deputy Assistant Eric Rubin, the parliament’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The sides discussed issues of interest on the agenda of bilateral relations between Moldova and the USA. Andrian Candu and Eric Rubin referred to the positive dynamics recorded in the cooperation between the two countries, stressing the importance of turning into account the Moldovan-US strategic dialogue.
The speaker thanked the American people for their political support and the generous assistance the United States offered Moldova. "We highly appreciate the support of our American partners and we want to advance the bilateral political dialogue, including increasing the number of joint projects with direct impact on the citizens’ quality of life," said Adrian Candu, noting that the authorities were making efforts to access the next funding from the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
Andrian Candu assured that European integration, namely the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement, were still Moldova’s priorities. "Moldova will continue its European course and not give up on its dream of becoming a full member of the great European family," said Adrian Candu.
The American official reiterated US‘s support for Moldova in the process of carrying out reforms. Eric Rubin also noted that the United States backed Moldova’s national security.
