New mechanisms on protection of entrepreneurs' rights to be developed in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today met representatives of a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Francis Malige, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

The prime minister pointed out the Moldovan government' goals and stressed that the work of the cabinet was focused on ensuring stability in the financial and banking system, promoting justice reform and economic development of Moldova. Gaburici spoke out for continuing the projects implemented with the EBRD's support in Moldova, including strengthening the Economic Council of the Prime Minister and speeding up the reforms meant to improve the business climate in Moldova.

A special topic of the meeting was creation of the Ombudsman institution for business and development of mechanism of mediating conflict situations in the business sector.

"We want to boost the partnership with EBRD, including in the fields seen in the memorandum of understanding on cooperation to improve the investment climate and  an initiative on strengthening government in Moldova", he noted.

For his part, Francis Malige expressed EBRD's willingness to back the development of reforms in Moldova and provide needed expertise to this end.

The sides exchanged opinions on the situation in the banking sector and measures due to be taken to ensure stability in the sector and attract investments in the country's economy. The officials tackled issues on the Bank's activity in different areas, stage of implementation of joint projects underway and prospects of starting new partnerships.
