Moldovan prime minister meets Israeli ambassador

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici met Israeli Ambassador to Moldova Oren David. The officials welcomed the fostering of the Moldovan-Israeli relations and reiterated the need to extend the bilateral legal framework, carrying out inter-ministerial consultations, turning to account the potential of the Joint Commission for economic cooperation, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
"We advocate strengthening economic ties, in particular by attracting Israeli investments to Moldova, in such areas as agriculture, constructions and infrastructure, regional development, environment, air transport, telecommunications and IT, culture," said Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici.
The prime minister also assured the Israeli official that Moldova would continue its European integration by implementing the Association Agreement. "It is important to complete reforms in key sectors: justice, fighting corruption, tightening the security of the banking system, that will help improve the increase the economy and create friendly conditions for foreign investors," added Chiril Gaburici.
The prime minister also appreciated the results of the fourth meeting of the Moldovan-Israeli joint economic cooperation commission, held in July 2014, which helped bolster the economic relations between the sides.
Chiril Gaburici highly praised the decision by the Israeli authorities to abolish visa requirements for Moldovan citizens holding biometric passports starting from 15 December 2014.
For his part, the Israeli ambassador stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations and spoke out for continuing the joint projects and launching new cooperation partnerships in various sectors. Oren David congratulated Chiril Gaburici on his investiture as prime minister of Moldova and wished him success.
About 300 Moldovan-Israeli companies with an invested capital of 42.6 million lei work in Moldova.
