Moldovan deputy foreign minister attends Black Sea Stakeholder Conference in Sofia

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi participated in the second Black Sea Stakeholder Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 24 March. The event was organised by the Bulgarian government, with the support of the European Commission, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The conference had the topic "Intelligent and Blue Economy" and had the goal to create a forum to identify new opportunities for the sustainable development of economy in the Black Sea region.
At the event’s opening, Deputy Minister Tudor Ulianovschi presented the priorities of the Moldovan Chairmanship-in-office of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation (BSEC), in terms of such sectors as: transport, tourism, health and culture. Ulianovschi also took part in talks on creating business opportunities.
At the same time, Tudor Ulianovschi held a bilateral meeting with European Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Karmenu Vella. The official reiterated the European Commission’s support for providing needed assistance to Moldova to implement the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, work out a new institutional mechanism to apply the National Strategy on attracting investments into this sector.
In Sofia, Ulianovschi also met his Bulgarian counterpart Valentin Poriazov. The sides addressed the boosting of the bilateral ties, especially continuing the backing provided by Bulgaria for Moldova’s European integration, as well as high-level visits exchange. At the same time, the officials considered possibility to expand economic exchanges, including by implementing social projects and irrigation ones in southern Taraclia district in 2015.
