Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/- Moldova has to boost the fight against corruption, continue the reforms in the justice sector, increase transparency in the banking sector and revise the Constitution. These are some of recommendations contained in the Report on Enforcement of the European Neighborhood Policy in 2014, made public today on the official website of the European Commission.
Under the document, the 2014 year represented a period of political stability for Moldova, as "the government continued to constantly work on the European agenda of the country."
The report says that Moldova advanced in the area of protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. "The government has successfully implemented important landmarks from the Justice Sector Reform Strategy 2011-2016. Nevertheless, the Prosecution reform remained a major problem", the text says.
At the same time, the report says that Moldova has registered minimal progress in boosting the relations with the Gagauz Autonomous Region and Transnistrian conflict settlement.
Each year, the European Commission and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy publish reports on assessing THE progress achieved by different countries, which have signed action plans and association agendas with EU.
