Latvian, French officials to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics and State Secretary for European Affairs of France Harlem Desir will visit Moldova later this week, at an invitation by the head of the Moldovan diplomacy, Natalia Gherman, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media communication service has reported.

Latvian Minister Edgars Rinkevics, whose country holds the presidency of the European Council, will visit Chisinau on 26 March and will meet Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman, as well as the leaders of the ruling alliance.

On 27 March, State Secretary for European Affairs of France Harlem Desir will visit Moldova. The French official will have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman.

The discussions with the two European officials will be focused, in particular, on the sides' expectations from the Eastern Partnership summit, due in Riga on 21-22 May, enforcement of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement and situation in the region.
