Moldova to join Creative Europe programme

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a draft on the ratification of the Agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the country’s participation in the Creative Europe programme.

To enforce the provisions of the concerned agreement, the Culture Ministry will create a Creative Europe Desk, that will coordinate and organise programme implementation activities nationally. The annual financial contribution Moldova is due to pay to the EU budget for participating in the programme is around 44,000 euros.

At the cabinet meeting, Deputy Culture Minister Gheorghe Postica said the Agreement provided for possibility for culture and media operators from Moldova to get funding under the programme. Postica added that Moldova was the second state in the Eastern Partnership to sign this Agreement.

Creative Europe 2014-2020 is the EU's technical programme aimed at supporting the cultural and creative sectors.
