Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - The German Bundestag today voted the ratification of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union in the final reading. The information was confirmed by the Moldovan Foreign and European Integration Ministry.
German MPs called for the expansion of trade with Moldova, "with the aim of ensuring a sustainable economic growth of Moldova."
At the same time, participants in the debates noted the record time in which Moldova obtained the liberalised visa regime with the EU and encouraged the Georgian, as well as the Ukrainian authorities to follow the country’s example.
Thus, Germany is the 14th country to ratify the document after Romania, Latvia, Estonia, Malta, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Croatia, Denmark and Ireland.
The Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union was signed on 27 June 2014 and ratified by the Moldovan parliament on 2 July, a procedure due to be fulfilled by all EU member states.
