Moldovan-American military exercise ends today

Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of over 120 National Army and National Guard North Carolina (USA) militaries participated in the Moldovan-American exercise titled “Travel Contact Team 2015” (TCT), which ended today at the military training base of the National Army.

Defence Minister Viorel Cibotaru and Chief of National Army Main Staff, Commander of the National Army Igor Gorgan attended the event.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Sergiu Cirimpei, the commander of the Fulger battalion, the purpose of the exercise, which brought together soldiers from the Stefan cel Mare special battalion and the 22nd peacekeeping battalion was to increase the interoperability between special forces and infantry subunit, as well as gaining practical skills to carry out special research and direct actions on strategic objectives.

Cirimpei said that the TCT-2015 joint exercise programme included theoretical and practical sessions on operations planning (day and night), special research, training military engineers, providing medical assistance as well as presenting arms.

The Moldovan-American Travel Contact Team 2015 exercise was held on 23-26 March at the National Army training base in Bulboaca.
