Moldova, France to further boost economic ties

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - French Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Desir has spoken out for boosting the economic ties between France and Moldova. The official made statements to this effect at a meeting with the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Vlad Filat, in Chisinau today, according to a press release by PLDM.
Harlem Desir underlined that many French entrepreneurs wanted to invest in Moldova, due to opportunities provided by the Free Trade Agreement.
„Shortly, France will ratify the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. This accord is an important lever, as it allows Moldova reaching the EU market – one of the biggest in the world. France will back Moldova to achieve its goal to get closer to EU,” Desir said. The official specified that French Prime Minister Manuel Valls would pay a visit to Moldova soon.
Vlad Filat highlighted that the French investments into the Moldovan economy were relevant. Filat added that the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement would strengthen the economic ties between the two states.
Harlem Desir pays one-day visit to Moldova. He is also to meet President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman.
