French premier to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - French Prime Minister Manuel Valls will visit Moldova in the first semester of 2015. Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman announced about this at a today joint news conference with French Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Desir.

Natalia Gherman said that the officials discussed the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit due in Riga in May, the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, bilateral ties and regional situation.

Harlem Desir said that the French National Assembly was to ratify the Moldova-EU Association Agreement “in a few weeks”. “This accord has to be applied as soon as possible, as it will transform the Moldovan economy and will change the life of citizens. We are by Moldova’s side and will offer you help,” Desir said.

Harlem Desir pays a visit to Moldova. He will also meet President Nicolae Timofti and Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici.
