Moldova to switch to summer time this night

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will switch to summer time this night. Each year, this happens on the last Sunday in March. This year, switching from winter to summer time is carried out in the night of 28 to 29 March.

Thus, the clock will be put forward, respectively, two o'clock will become three o'clock in the morning. Once switching to the summer time 2015, the Sunday, 29 March, will have 23 hours and will be the shortest day of the year.

Switching to summer tome was carried out for the first time in Germany and Great Britain in 1916, for optimal use of daylight and reducing artificial light.

The summer schedule from Moldova is correlated to the one in the EU member states and is applied until last Sunday of October, when the winter time occurs.
