Moldova, Georgia to enhance cooperation on European integration

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici met Georgian Ambassador to Moldova Merab Antadze today. The officials addressed the boosting of bilateral ties, speeding up the Moldovan-Georgian dialogue at different levels and experience exchange in European integration, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
”Moldova and Georgia have not only common goals and visions, but also identical problems. The fostering of the Moldovan-Georgian cooperation, exchanging experience in different areas will help us mutually cover the way towards the European integration,” Chiril Gaburici said.
Gaburici also spoke about the importance of the experience exchange in implementing reforms in justice, home affairs and customs service. Chiril Gaburici reiterated Moldova’s interest in taking over the good practices applied by Georgia to promote export and attract investments, as well as to enhance the Moldovan-Georgian economic ties.
The sides spoke out for starting the activity of the Moldovan-Georgian intergovernmental economic cooperation commission, opportunity to organise joint economic forums and exhibitions of goods.
Also, the officials also approached the implementation of the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, bolstering the political dialogue at various levels, cooperation within the Eastern Partnership, as well as the expectations from the Eastern Partnership Summit, due in Riga on 21-22 May.
”Moldova is a successful example for Georgia as to achieve the provisions of the Action Plan on visa regime liberalisation. The intense cooperation and joint efforts will accelerate the European integration of the two states,” Merab Antadze said.
Moldova and Georgia have signed 22 bilateral agreements so far.
