Foreign minister appreciates Poland's contribution to Moldova's adjusting to European standards

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman today met Polish Lodz Voivode Jolanta Chełmińska, on a visit to Moldova, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.

The officials appreciated more actions in terms of promoting Moldova in Poland, especially in the Lodz Voivodeship. Supported by the Moldovan Consulate in Lodz, seminars on development of bilateral cooperation relations in different sectors, forums of business people, promotion of Moldovan products on the local market, visits aimed at taking over Poland's experience in the local public administration and democratic transformation, as well as cultural events were organised in the region.

"Poland is an active promoter of interests and efforts on Moldova's alignment to the European standards," Gherman said.

The sides also opted for enhancing the presence of Polish investments in Moldovan economy and offering good practices in implementing the reforms in Moldova.

Also, Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti awarded the Order of Honor to Lodz Voivode Jolanta Chełmińska.
