Moldovan servicemen participate in Saber Junction 15 drills in Germany

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - A contingent of the National Army participates in the Saber Junction 15 multinational drills at the Military Training Centre in Hohenfels, Germany, on 1-30 April.
Press Officer at the General Staff of the National Army, Major Ala Diaconu has said that 20 Moldovan servicemen of the Fulger special battalion and of the 22 peacekeeping battalion took part in the exercise.
Diaconu specified that the drills’ goal was joint training of forces in complex situations specific to modern operational environment, as well as testing and showing the compatibility of operation procedures and military capabilities of NATO member and partner states.
The exercises, in which about 4,700 servicemen from 17 NATO member and partner states participate, including Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Sweden and USA, will be carried out in more phases simultaneously on shooting grounds in Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Romania.
