Moldova to open embassy in Japan

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will have an embassy in Japan. The cabinet approved a decision in on the matter today.

The Foreign and European Integration Ministry made the proposal. ”The establishment of a diplomatic representative in Tokyo will contribute to developing the potential of bilateral ties. The permanent diplomatic presence in Japan will ensure a direct dialogue with the Japanese authorities, in order to increase the financial assistance provided directly or via various instruments,” Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman said.

It is not known who will hold the office of Moldova’s Ambassador to Tokyo as yet.
