Moldovan cabinet approves regulation on vocation education agency

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- The government today approved a regulation on organisation and work of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education.
Under the document, the Agency will assess and accredit the institutions and curricula of technical vocational education, higher and continuous formation education from Moldova. At the same time, the Agency will authorise new structures in the technical and higher vocational education, new curricula on initial and continuous formation.
The institution will be headed by a council, made up of 15 members: 13 staff with teaching and scientific duties in the higher and technical vocational education, a representative of students and a representative of the business environment. The Council members will be selected by contest for a four-year mandate, with possibility to be re-elected for one more term.
The Agency will be financed from the state budget (in 2015-2016) and from it own incomes. Under an informative note of the project, 4.6 million lei will be spent from the state budget for the first two years of the Agency's work.
