Moldovan cabinet approves normative basis on work of national agency for assuring quality in vocational education

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet has approved a regulation on the organisation and work of the National Agency for Assuring Quality of Vocational Education (ANACIP). The agency was created in August 2014, in line with the provisions of the Education Code, with the ANACIP interim leadership council set up, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The regulation, approved at the today's cabinet meeting, sets the organisational structures, powers, responsibilities and rights of ANACIP, as well as the way the institution is financed. Under the document, the agency will have 26 employees. In the first two years of work, ANACIP will be backed from the state budget, with 4.6 million planned to this end. The Agency's further activity will be financially provided from means got of contracts on assessing the institutions providing professional training programmes, as well as evaluation of the professional training programmes for the authorisation of provisional work and their accreditation.
The regulation stipulates that the collective leadership body of the Agency - the leadership council - will have 15 members, of whom 13 - staff with scientific-didactic and scientific duties in the higher and vocational technical education, one representative of the students and one of the business environment. The members of the leadership council are selected by open contest, with possibility to be re-elected for another term at the most. The context will be organised and carried out via a contest commission, made up of five delegated representatives of at least three agencies of ensuring quality in European states, recorded in the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR).
The Agency has the task of external evaluation of education institutions/providers of curricula and/or syllabi in the vocational technical schools, higher schools, as well as their accreditation. The agency will also deal with the authorisation of the new structures in the vocational and higher education, new curricula for initial and continuous education.
