Moldovan parliament establishes medal on 70 anniversary of Victory over fascism in World War II

Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today voted for the establishment of a medal, "70th Anniversary of Victory over Fascism in World War II."

Under an informative note to the draft, the medal will be awarded to "the servicemen and civilian employees who participated in combat actions on fronts of the World War II and who, on the latter's period, were on military service in the armed forces involved in the war, partisans and participants in the underground movement, people who worked in the enemy's rear, former prisoners of concentration camps and ghettos."

Deputy Defence Minister Alexandru Cimbriciuc has said that a number of 2,150 medals were scheduled to be manufactured, for which over 800,000 lei would be spent.

The 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II will be marked in 2015.
