Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Joint Control Commission (JCC) held a meeting in Bender town on 2 April. The main topic of discussions was the free movement in the Security Zone, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The participants also addressed the latest events, especially the unilateral actions undertaken by the Transnistrian bodies on 1 April 2015, which denied Moldovan policemen's access to Bender city. At the same time, military observers were blocked the exit in order to gather documentary evidences on the case. The Moldovan delegation said that, by these actions, the JCC’s decisions on free movement were flagrantly violated. In retort, Transnistrian representatives said the military observers had no reason to come on the spot to gather evidence on the incident.

The participants in the meeting also found that the position of the head of  the Transnistrian delegation ran counter the commitments taken during the previous meetings.

To unlock the situation and find a consensus solution, the Moldovan delegation suggested to accept a proposal made at the co-chairs’ meeting of 19 March. The participants in the then meeting approved a draft including concrete measures to solve problems as to free movement in the Security Zone, including the monitoring by OSCE of the situation in the high security regime district - Bender city.

The Transnistrian side categorically refused that OSCE Mission getting an active role in the monitoring process and also rejected proposals by the Russian delegation on military observers’ trip to accumulate materials on incidents, upon the request of one of the superior military commanders of the peacekeepers' contingents.

Because of lack of consensus, the Russian co-chair proposed to postpone the meeting for next week.
