Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today met representatives of business associations from Moldova. The dialogue focused on the concerns of the business environment of the country. Business community representatives unveiled recommendations to remove constraints to doing business at the meeting. The recommendations were developed by three business associations: the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova, European Business Association and the Association of Foreign Investors, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
According to European Business Association Head Silvia Radu, the concerned document contains the vision of associations that participated in its development, and represents the opinion of the majority of foreign investors operating in Moldova. The authors claim that these recommendations would help supplementing budget revenues, enhancing social assistance, increasing the wage and financing infrastructure projects.
The premier thanked the interlocutors for the document, noting that it would be carefully considered by the governmental team. "Attracting investments in the country's economy is one of the government’s priorities. We must join efforts to achieve our common goal - to create a friendly environment for business development and investment attraction," said Chiril Gaburici. In this context, he reiterated the government's openness for an efficient collaboration with all partners, urging them to be actively involved in this process.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinions on the government’s primary actions to improve the investment climate in Moldova. Among the most pressing problems, the sides mentioned: the need for observing the legislation on transparency in the decision-making process, improving labour legislation framework, as well as developing mechanisms for conflict mediation in the business sector. In this respect, the sides agreed on organising regular consultations, including with the participation of other stakeholders, to identify compromise solutions on each subject.
