Ashgabat hosts Moldovan-Turkmen political consultations

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - A round of Moldovan-Turkmen inter-ministerial consultations at level of deputy foreign ministers took place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, today. Moldova’s delegation was led by Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and the Turkmen one by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The officials spoke out for continuing the political dialogue at different levels, expanding and deepening cooperation in the economic area, energy and transport, as well as enhancing exchanges in the cultural and humanitarian fields.
The sides also agreed to sign a new programme on political consultations for 2015-2017 between the Foreign Ministries of the two states.
The first meeting of the Moldovan-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation also took place today. The participants examined the current stage and prospects of cooperation in the economic, technical and scientific, and cultural and humanitarian sectors. The sides agreed to boost activity in order to develop more efficiently the Moldovan-Turkmen bilateral collaboration potential, including in trade, agro-industrial complex, transport, construction, energy, science and education.
