Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiirl Gaburici today met Qatari Ambassador to Moldova Mohammed Bin Mohammed Al - Maliki. The officials discussed the consolidation of economic relations between Moldova and State of Qatar, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

Gaburici thanked the State of Qatar for support and interest in Moldova. At the same time, he opted for turning to good account the development potential of ties with the country at more levels.

"We are set to build a strategic partner with Qatari State, as there are important commercial opportunities to be used between our states", the premier said.

For his part, the ambassador reaffirmed the Qatari authorities' will to boost economic cooperation between Qatar and Moldova. In this context, the sides approached organisation of more visits by business people from Doha to Moldova.

The ambassador appreciated that the Moldovan government had recently approved a decision, saying that Qatar was excluded from the list of states whose citizens needed invitations to request entry visa in Moldova.

In 2013, the Moldovan Embassy in Doha was opened, being the first diplomatic mission in a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab world.
