Chisinau, Tiraspol looking for mechanism of interaction between insurance companies

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/- The political representatives for the Transnistrian conflict settlement on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol, Victor Osipov and Nina Shtanski, respectively, had two working meetings with the participation of the working groups (experts) in the transport sector on 6-7 April. The talks were focused on identifying solutions, meant to create mechanisms of interaction between the insurance companies from the two banks of the Dniester in the compulsory auto liability insurance, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

Following an intense work, the political representatives elaborated and coordinated a draft protocol decision on the above-mentioned issue, in order to present it to Prime Minister and Transnistrian leader. Their positions, as well as next steps on the draft will be announced in the near future. 

Under the draft protocol decision, the rights of drivers and injured parties in road accident on both banks of the Dniester would be ensured, regardless of the place where the insurance policy is issued or of the traffic accident. A positive result of the effort would be disappearance of the requirement for drivers of vehicles registered in Moldova to buy an additional insurance policy to go to the Transnistrian region.
