Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/- Farmers at a today's news conference informed that they would organise protests again on 15 April, referring to "lack of actions taken by authorities to settle problems in agriculture".
The farmers said they were disappointed about the fact that none of their previous demands had been fulfilled following the 27 March protests.
In particular, the farmers asked the government not to increase VAT on agricultural production from 8 to 20 per cent, and the subsidizing fund in agriculture should be at least 1.2 billion lei.
"After protests, we found a budget approved with the same amount of 600 million lei for subsidies in agriculture, and meat producers - 20 per cent VAT on live animals and fresh meat", the head of the UniAgroProtect Union, Alexandru Slusari, has said.
Slusari also said the farmers would block the national roads during one hour on 15 April.
Agriculture and Food Minister Ion Sula could not comment on statements by farmers, as he was on a business trip abroad.
