Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament will organise an exhibition and sale to support orphans before Easter, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Tens of children and young people from community centres of Chisinau will exhibit Easter themed handicrafts, paintings, tapestries, etc. The exhibition will be held on 9 April at 09:00 in the hall of the parliament and will be visited by MPs and officials of the parliament’s secretariat.
Children will also take a guided tour of the parliament, attend the plenary meeting and have lunch on the premises.
"On the eve of Easter holidays, I make an appeal to mobilise the entire body of MPs to attend a charity event with a noble purpose - supporting and encouraging the less fortunate. I urge you not to forget the fate of children forced to spend their childhood in orphanages, as well as older people living a lonely life in nursing homes and try to comfort their solitary souls. By helping others, we help ourselves! ", says the message of Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu to MPs.
At the same time, the parliament speaker urged the lawmakers to donate money to help disadvantaged people of the Republican Rehabilitation Centre for disabled people, labour and war veterans from Cocieri, eastern Dubasari district. The parliament will donate household equipment and food to the institution, and Speaker Andrian Candu transferred one month's income to the centre’s account.
