Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/- The parliament today ratified the Moldova-EU Agreement on the country's participation in the Creative Europe Programme.
To enforce the provisions of the agreement, the Culture Ministry will create a bureau of creative Europe, that will coordinate and organise activities for implementing the programme nationally. Culture Minister Monica Babuc has said the annual financial contribution Moldova had to pay to the EU budget for participation in the programme's activities was about 44,000 euros.
Among the goals of the programme, there are: preservation of European linguistic and cultural diversity, promotion of Europe's cultural heritage, consolidation of competitiveness of cultural and creative sectors.
Under the project's informative note, Moldova's participation in the programme will contribute, in particular, to improving access to financing for all culture area operators.
The Creative Europe programme (2014-2020) represents the EU's technical programme aimed at backing the cultural and creative sectors.
