Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today presented to the parliament the drafts on which the government has taken responsibility.
The drafts aim at fiscal policy, the state budget for 2015, the state social insurance budget and mandatory health insurance funds.
"The economic situation is difficult. Some aspects of negotiations with development partners are conditioned by the approval of the budget. In the absence of a functional budget, state institutions cannot carry out procurement procedures. Each day of delay in the set of laws enhances the risk of failure to meet the planned budgetary parameters. This decision does not intend to undermine the authority or powers of the parliament. Taking responsibility for this set of laws is an urgent need for the country and citizens," said Chiril Gaburici.
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, said that if within 72 hours at least 26 deputies did not submit no-confidence votes, the drafts for which the government has assumed responsibility will be deemed as adopted.
After the unveiling of the drafts, the MPs from the faction of the Party of Socialists of Moldova (PSRM) demanded a break. PSRM leader Igor Dodon announced that 25 Socialist MPs signed a motion of censure. Dodon added that he hoped it would be signed by other lawmakers too.
