Moldovan official paper's roundup for 9 April

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - The draft laws on which the government has assumed responsibility before parliament have been published in the Official Paper. The drafts concern fiscal policy, the 2015 state budget, the state social insurance budget and mandatory health insurance funds.

Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today presented the concerned drafts to the MPs. The state budget for 2015 provides for revenues of 30.3 billion lei, expenses worth 34.3 billion lei and a budget deficit of almost four billion lei. According to the fiscal policy for this year, the rate of excise duties on more products will increase, the road tax will be higher by 50 per cent and low VAT rate of eight per cent will be applied only to producers and importers of live animals for reproduction, fresh or chilled fruits, and vegetables, as well as cereals.

The Constitution provides that the government can assume responsibility before the parliament on a programme, a general policy statement or a draft law.

The Moldovan government assumes responsibility before parliament for approving the national budget and budgetary and fiscal policy for the first time ever.
