Moldovan foreign minister to visit Qatar

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/- A Moldovan delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman, will pay an official visit to the State of Qatar on 12-14 April, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.
The agenda includes meetings with Qatari prime minister, who also holds the office of interior minister, foreign minister, as well as with education minister, to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in education, higher education and scientific research between the Moldovan and Qatari governments. The document provides for taking over good experience and practices from education policies.
The officials will discuss deepening the bilateral cooperation in the political, agri-food, investments' attraction and humanitarian sectors.
Also, Minister Natalia Gherman, as head of Moldovan delegation, will attend a meeting of the high-level segment of the 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. The official will give a speech on reconfirming the role of law supremacy in promoting sustainable development and ensuring peace and prosperity all over the world.
On visit to Quatar, Gherman will participate in an official ceremony of inauguration of the Moldovan Embassy in Doha.
Note: The Moldovan-Qatari diplomatic relations were set on 13 June 1997. Moldova opened a diplomatic mission in Doha in March 2013, and Qatar set up the embassy in Chisinau in January 2014.
