Moldovan president attends Easter mass

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti participated in the greeting ceremony of the Moldovan delegation led by Metropolitan Vladimir who brought the Holy Light from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem to Moldova, in the Metropolitan Cathedral Square in the capital, the presidency's press service has reported.

President Nicolae Timofti witnessed the Resurrection service at the Chisinau-based Birth of God Cathedral by a group of priests led by Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir.

Afterwards, the president visited the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul Church in the capital, where together with Metropolitan Petru, priests and parishioners celebrated the Resurrection. Parish priest Petru Buburuz awarded President Timofti a Diploma of Excellence, commemorating 20 years since the establishment of the parish.
