Moldovan National Army's contingent to participate in military drills in Romania

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/- A National Army contingent will participate in the Wind Spring 15 multinational drills, due on 16-30 April, at the Smardan shooting range from Galati and the Mihail Kogalniceanu centre from Constanta, Romania.
The head of the Defence Ministry's public relations service, Diana Gradinaru, has said that the National Army would detach a platoon of servicemen of the Stefan cel Mare infantry brigade.
The Moldovan platoon, made up of 26 servicemen, will train jointly with Romanian, American and British servicemen to maintain the operational capacity of structures and meet specific requirements of interoperability and standardisation of the North Atlantic Alliance and European Union.
About 1,500 Romanian servicemen, 400 military from the United States, 170 servicemen from the Great Britain and 26 from Moldova will take part in the drills.
Presently, another contingent of the National Army, made up of over 20 servicemen of the Fulger special battalion and the 22nd peacekeeping battalion, participates in the Saber Junction 15 drills, held at the Hohenfels military training centre, Germany, on 1-30 April 2015. As many as 4,700 servicemen from 17 NATO member and partner countries participate in Saber Junction 15, carried out concomitantly in Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Romania.
