Moldovan PM attends ceremony of swearing in office of new governor of Gagauzia

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today participated in a ceremony of swearing of Irina Vlah in the office of bashkan (governor) of Gagauzia, southern Moldova. In his speech, Gaburici congratulated Vlah on her election in the post of bashkan and thanked Mihail Formuzal (former bashkan) for the intense activity carried out during eight years, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
In the context, the premier noted that the Moldovan government would back the candidate elected by citizens in exercising her mandate. "As an integral part of Moldova, Gagauzia should actively involve in all the processes of modernising and developing the country. Only together, through communication, cooperation and open dialogue, we will be able to implement a lot of joint projects and settle problems," Gaburici said.
The prime minister also referred to the dialogue between the autonomy and central authorities from Chisinau. "Gagauzia's bashkan is member of the Moldovan government and has many possibilities to do so that the voice of autonomy should be heard and taken into account in the decision-making. The social and cultural part is very important , and the Moldovan government will do its utmost to preserve the Gagauz culture and traditions", he said.
The prime minister also touched upon the government's priorities on modernisation of Gagauzia in the social infrastructure, roads construction and attraction of investments in agriculture.
"Many of us come from different ethnic communities - Moldovans, Gagauz, Ukrainians, Russians and Bulgarians. Yet, there is a thing uniting us - we live in Moldova and we are citizens of this country. We must work to develop our country", Chiril Gaburici concluded.
Also,the prime minister will participate in a ceremony of taking oath by Irina Vlah, due in Chisinau, in the presence of Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti.
