France ratifies Moldova-EU Association Agreement

Chisinau, 17 April /MOLDPRES/ - France ratified the Moldova-EU Association Agreement on 16 April. The head of the Press Service of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, Ana Taban, has confirmed the information.
The French National Assembly ratified the accord. During the debates, the French MPs highlighted that “Moldova is the most democratic country of the EU eastern neighbourhood and the most francophone and francophile state in the Eastern Europe”.
Thus, France is the 18th state that ratified the document, after Romania, Latvia, Estonia, Malta, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Croatia, Denmark, Ireland, Germany, Holland, the Czech Republic and Great Britain.
The Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union was signed on 27 June 2014 and ratified by the Moldovan parliament on 2 July 2014, procedure which is to be carried out by all those 28 EU member states.
