European Investment Bank to open office in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/ - The government and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will sign an agreement on the establishment of the EIB Office. The Cabinet today approved the signing of the accord.
At the cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman said that the main goal of the agreement was to set the needed legal framework for the establishment of the EIB Representation in Moldova.
Under the decision, this will lead to consolidation and development of cooperation with the concerned financial institution and will help expand the bank's work all over Moldova.
So far, Moldova and EIB have signed 13 financing agreements providing public authorities and the private sector access to funds worth over 550 million euros for the implementation of projects on road infrastructure, water supply, agriculture, food, etc.
