Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Health Ministry today ruled to suspend from office five people charged in a dossier on bid-rigging in the medical system, following a request by prosecutor.
According to the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), the concerned persons are the directors of the Republican Clinical Hospital, Institute of Cardiology, Emergency Hospital, Institute of Oncology and the deputy director of the Medicines Agency.
Requests on the suspension of other accomplices will be submitted by the prosecutor according to the procedure.
CNA detained 16 people on 10 April in a corruption case on public procurement in the medical system. The concerned people are suspected of having faked tenders for buying sanitary equipment, and for this they were rewarded with a sum accounting for 5-10 per cent of the transaction's amount.
