Moldova, Czech Republic sing memorandum of understanding in wine-making sector

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Ion Sula and Czech Ambassador to Moldova Jaromir Kvapil signed a Memorandum of understanding in Chisinau today. Under the document, the Czech Republic will provide Moldova with 470,000 euros to improve syllabi in vine-growing and wine-making sectors at agricultural colleges.
Sula specified that the project would last by late 2017 and would allow the curriculum of students studying vine-growing to be closer to modern European technologies.
At the same time, the Czech Republic will provide 475,000 dollars for creating a Vine and Wine Register of Moldova, Ion Sula said.
Jaromir Kvapil underlined that the Czech Republic ranked second among the EU states where Moldova exported wine, with Poland on the first position. Moldova exported 3 million bottles of wine worth 7.2 million dollars to the Czech market in 2014.
