Moldovan PM takes part in Peace Summit in Istanbul

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici has participated in the Peace Summit, held in Istanbul, Turkey, on 23-25 April. The high-level meeting was chaired by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Attending the meeting were heads of state and government from all over the world, as well as representatives of international organisations, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
At the event, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici had ad-hoc meetings with more officials. The Moldovan PM exchanged opinions with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu and Prime Minister of Zeeland John Kay. Gaburici also met Georgian Defence Minister Mindia Janelidze, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme Helen Clark, as well as officials of European institutions.
Following the high-level meeting of the Peace Summit, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta discussed the support provided by the Bucharest government to promote and implement reforms on Moldova's European agenda.
The Istanbul Peace Summit is organised in the context of commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Canakkale. Two ceremonies of commemorating the victims of this battle, which took place on 24 April 1915, will be organised on the Gelibolu peninsula on 24-25 April.
